The offshore fishing around Bundaberg has been non-existent this past week due to bad weather, and it doesn’t look like letting up anytime soon.
However, the river and creeks are still fishing well with most systems producing some red hot fishing.
Baffle Creek has produced some small jacks making it a good sign for next summer.
The Kolan River is probably fishing the best with a good run of salmon – blue and king – both being caught. Some have been caught on livies, but most have been taken on Tranzam or Strada X-Blade lures.
The Burnett River is still producing some big bream around the rock bars. There is plenty of flathead around the sand flats. Soft plastics on the flathead have been deadly.
The whiting are still plentiful in the Elliott River, as well as a few trevally and queenfish for a bit of fun.
Lake Monduran produced a few small barra during the week on Rapala X-Raps and Jackall Squirrells. Most of the bays in the “B” arm produced these small barra.
Till next time,
