Fish Report – 19th January, 2012

We recently had some nice rain in the Bundaberg area and so far this has not affected the fishing at all.

The offshore fishing has been awesome with big red emperor, coral trout, sweetlip and the usual mixed reef species all being taken.

There is also a large run of spotted mackerel along the coat. Most have been caught casting chrome slugs into the feeding schools.

The local rivers and creeks have also been fishing well with some great catches of jacks, cod, fingermark and some monster threadfin. Blades seem to be the favoured lures. For the bait anglers there is still a good mix of whiting, bream and flathead also.

The Isis Impoundment (Lake Gregory) is still producing some awesome bass fishing of Jackalls and Blades.

Till next time,
