Well, it’s been a very ordinary week for fishing around the Bundaberg area.
Wind, rain and more wind, has meant that offshore fishing was out and we have been left to fish the rivers, creeks, beaches and dams.
With most of the rivers running fresh, the best places to fish are around the mouths, and some great fish have been caught. Catches of big barra, king threadfin, grunter, and odd jack and fingermark have all been taken on live baits and lures with Strada Terra and Jackall Tranzams being hot favourites.
If you can put up with the odd catfish, there are some ripper bream being caught further up the Burnett River.
The local beaches are fishing well for flathead, whiting and big dart with prawns and worms being the best bait.
Lake Monduran has slowed up a bit but the barra that have been caught are only small but heaps of fun.
The Isis Impoundment (Lake Gregory) is still producing some great bass fishing in Jackalls and Blades.
Till next time,
