Fish Report - 12th April 2012

Well, we have seen some nice fish caught around the Bundaberg area over Easter.

We had near-perfect weather, with the offshore grounds producing some excellent catches of big red emperor, coral trout, big sweetlip and the usual hussar.

The Cochrane Artificial Reef has been producing some beautiful snapper to 4kg and still some big grunter.

The local rivers are on the improve as well. The fresh has slowed up and the salt has pushed back up river. Some beaut bream, cod, grunter and even some big mangrove jacks have been caught.

A few anglers who have been live-baiting the deeper holes have even caught some good threadfin salmon and the odd big barra.

Some big summer whiting have been taken around the sand flats on yabbies and there has been a good run of dart along the local beaches as well.

Till next time,
