The fishing around the Bundaberg area is still red-hot with most northern species all being caught, and I can say I’ve never seen or had the fishing this good!
All the rivers and creeks are producing great numbers of large threadfin salmon, mangrove jacks, jew, cod, fingermark and still some monster grunter. We have been catching most of these species on lures and the standout lures have been Jackall Squirrels and Tranzams, all worked slow with a long pause.
There is a good number of whiting about with a few keen lure anglers chasing whiting on poppers. There is plenty of flathead about on the sand flats with the run-in tides being the best.
Offshore has been limited due to weather, but on the few good days we’ve had, there were plenty of sweetlip, hussar, parrot and some monster trout all caught.
Hopefully it won’t be long and we’ll see a good run of spanish mackerel and cobia.
The Isis Impoundment (Lake Gregory) is producing some great bass fishing sessions, mainly on Blades and Jackall TN60 lures.
Lake Monduran is producing a red-hot barra bite with Jackall Squirrel Hank Tunes being the best lure.
Till next time,
