on orders over $125Wow, what a week of great weather we have had in the Bundaberg area! It has been some of the best/calmest we have seen, and a lot of big boats took advantage of the opportunity.
Some of the bigger boats fished wide, out to the shelf catching big reds, job fish, pearl perch and cod. The islands and reefs are producing coral trout, red throat sweeties, parrot and hussar. Even the gutters produced some big trout, cod and grass sweeties.
The inshore reefs such as the Four Mile and the Cochrane Artificial are producing an amazing amount of snapper and big grunter as well as some good-sized schoolie mackerel.
There are plenty of pelagics about with heaps of trevally, queen fish, spanish and school mackerel, and big cobia all being caught.
The local rivers are fishing well apart from the Burnett, due to the recent floods and the issue with the presence of e-coli bacteria. Bundaberg Regional Council has stated that the sewerage treatment plant that was damaged in the floods has been repaired and they expect the bacteria levels to return to normal next week, however you might want to be wary when taking/eating anything from the Burnett system for a little while yet.
The Elliott and Kolan river systems are both fishing well, with some monster whiting and flathead all being caught. Plenty of grunter, jack and even some barra are still being caught as well.
Lake Monduran has bounced back quickly after the floods with some great catches of barra being caught with up to twelve barra per session being landed. Jackall Squirrels and Lucky Craft lures have been hot favourites.
