Fish Report - 7th June 2012

Around the Bundaberg region, the Burnett River is still fishing well with plenty of over-sized bream being taken in the upper town reaches.

Mud drabs are very much on the move despite the cooler temperatures. Plenty of reports coming in from all around are telling us that they are a good size and full as well.

A good number of school mackerel are being taken out from Burnett Heads on floating pilchards. Get in quick before they disappear!

Whiting have slowed down a bit, but if you still want to chase them, then the mouth of the Kolan and Elliott Rivers and Coonarr Creek should find you a few of these tasty fish.

Flathead are where you find them – especially on a run-out tide as they wait to ambush the smaller bait fish. One place to try would be Skyringville amongst the timber structure on soft plastic worms.

Good fishing,

Brett Robinson
