on orders over $125Well, the cooler weather has definitely hit the Bundaberg region and this has given us a constant run of good weather recently.
Most boats have opted to head offshore and have been rewarded with some top catches. Plenty of coral trout, big red emperor, sweetlip, hussar, parrot and the usual mixed reefies have been taken. A few big black king have also made an appearance, and there are good numbers of Spanish mackerel hanging around most reefs.
Schools of tuna, trevally and mixed mackerels have been hanging along the coast and most anglers have been having a ball by casting soft plastics and chrome slugs into the feeding schools.
The inshore grounds have been producing some big snapper and grunter. Pillies, squid, yakkas have been the favoured baits.
The local rivers have been fishing very well. Whiting and bream have been popular targets. Flathead have been making their way back into the rivers and soft plastics have been catching them in good numbers. The few who have braved the elements to do some night live-baiting have been very well-rewarded with some big jack and fingermark jew, and some very impressive barra have also been caught.
Some good bass are still being caught in the local dams, with the usual Blades and Spinnerbaits claiming most catches.
