Fishing Report 18th of October 2011

Well, we have seen some very ordinary windy weather in the Bundaberg area over the past week, so no offshore fishing has been done.

Most of the fishing has been confined to either the dams or rivers and creeks. Some great fish have been caught though.

Most rivers and creeks have been producing some top quality whiting and bream. The whiting have been taken on small prawns and worms while most of the bream have been caught on soft plastics.

The mouths of the local rivers have been holding heaps of flathead. Again, the soft plastics have been producing the best results.

Some of the deeper holes throughout the rivers are producing some nice jew, barra and mangrove jacks. Live mullet or soft plastics have been best.

The Isis Impoundment have been producing some great bass fishing with an awesome surface bite first thing in the morning on Poppers, and some awesome bass have been taken on Blades later in the day when the surface shuts down.

Till next time,
