on orders over $125Even though the recent rains sent some more fresh down the local creeks and rivers, the fishing has still been great.
Offshore fishing has been limited to one day here and two days there in between the blows, but on those days you have been able to get out the fishing has been good.
We have seen a good run of winter snapper come in, and although they are not monster snapper, they fall in between the new current snapper size limits and are perfect table fish.
Sweetlip, trout, cod and cobia seem to be the mix of reefies being caught at the moment.
The Burnett River still seems to be producing some red hot fishing sessions with big bream, flathead and grunter making up most catches. The big bream seem to be hanging around the rock walls, with some snodger bream up to one kilogram in weight being landed. Chook gut and mullet fillets seem to be the gun baits, and the boys are braining the big bream on plastics as well.
There is still a good number of blue salmon being caught in the deeper holes and along the sand and mud flat drop-offs. Most have been caught on live baits and some on Blades and Tranzams as well.
Some of the local river mouths have been producing some good quality tailor by trolling lures and/or spinning with metal chrome lures, with Flasha lures being the best.
There are still a few mud crabs about after the last bit of fresh. Dropping pots in the main flow of the rivers and creeks seems to be working the best.
