on orders over $125Well, both the offshore and the estuary fishing around the Bundaberg area is well and truly on the improve.
This week though, the offshore weather was ordinary so no one really fished out wide. Most offshore fishing was coastal, with plenty of mackerel and tuna being caught right along the coast by spinning or trolling lures.
Most of the estuaries are well on the improve with most systems seeing plenty of juvenile bait moving up high into the upper reaches of the rivers, and there has been plenty of fish following the bait back up there. Salmon, jew and barra have all been caught from around the bait schools.
The rock bars are holding large amounts of bream and some are crackers, up to 40cm. Most of the bream have been caught on Instinct blades and soft plastics.
There has been a good run of summer whiting and dart and they have been caught around the mouth of the Elliott River on peeled prawns or worms.
Mud crabs are still on the move throughout most of the local rivers.
Lake Monduran is fishing awesomely since the flooding has receded, with six to eight barra being caught in a session with Jackall Squirrels and Duel Hardcore Shads being hot favourite lures. A simple slow retrieve is all that is needed to entice a Monduran barra.
