Fish Report - 11th July 2013

Well, the weather around the Bundaberg area has been very ordinary for offshore fishing with a 25 knot forecast almost all week.

This should have meant a bit of trailer maintenance on your big boat trailer to make it ready for when the weather comes good.

So, as a result all the fishing this week has been done in the dams and rivers.

Baffle Creek is still producing some good bream and grunter and the odd mangrove jack.

The Kolan River has produced some great flathead fishing on soft plastics as well as a few tailor around the river mouth.

The Burnett River is also fishing well for big bream, grunter, jew, and even some whiting. There are also some small pelagics such as trevally and small queenfish. Using small surface poppers has been the best way to catch them.

Tackle World staff member, Brett Robison has been catching some beaut whiting in the Elliott River using prawns as bait.

The Isis Impoundment (Lake Gregory) is a great option on this windy weather, and is fishing well with some great bass fishing sessions being had. Spinnerbaiting the edges, as well as using small Blade lures has been working well. The bass that are schooled up out in the middle of the dam have been caught by using Jackall TN60 lures.

Till next time,
