on orders over $125The past week has seen some rough weather around the Bundaberg area and this has left the offshore guys at home.
The estuaries however, are still firing really well, with Baffle Creek starting to produce some great jack fishing, mainly by using soft plastics around the rock bars. The mouth of the Baffle is also producing some nice whiting and flathead.
The Kolan River is still producing a good run of salmon and barra by using Jackall Tranzams and Jackall Squirrels as well as Lucky Craft Pointers. There has also been a few tailor around the mouth.
The Burnett River is also fishing well. Bream are still big and plentiful, mainly around the rock bars. There are also some good grunter, cod and some salmon – both blue and king – as well as a run of prawns and crabs.
The Elliott River is still producing a run of summer whiting. Best chance for a feed of whiting is the run-in tide using prawns or worms as bait. There has also been a run of trevally and queenfish for anyone keen to throw lures.
Lake Gregory (the Isis Impoundment) is producing a red hot bass bite with some big bass being caught around the weed edges on Blades and suspending hard bodies. Bass to 50cm have been a regular occurrence, so well worth the effort.
