on orders over $125Finally we have had a couple of good days of weather in the Bundaberg area.
The local reef fishermen had the chance to throw in a line, and a mixed bag of fish were reported, ranging from red emperor, sweetlip, parrot and coral trout. There are also a lot of black king hanging around the outer reefs and wrecks, along with some spanish mackerel.
Winter whiting should be starting to make their presence felt very soon. Areas to target would be the dumping ground out from the mouth of the Burnett River and along the beach at Woodgate.
Summer whiting and flathead are still being captured at the mouth of the Burnett, as well as at Skyringville and the Burrum River.
The occasional salmon is still being caught in the deeper holes of the Burnett as well as a few nice sized trumpeter.
Lake Gregory (Isis Impoundment) is producing some nice sized bass early in the morning on surface lures, and during the day a lot of smaller fish have been captured. Using a larger profile lure such as a spinnerbait normally produces your larger fish during the day.
Lake Monduran is fishing fairly tough at present. Suspending lures seem to be producing the best results in the shallows. Larger barra seem to be hanging in deeper water where a sinking lure will give you better results. With the water temperature fairly low, try downsizing your lure size and retrieve more slowly.
