Description
The Heavy Duty Reef Anchor is a robust 5-prong galvanised anchor designed for temporary anchoring in reef, rocky, and irregular seabed conditions where conventional flat-fluke anchors cannot achieve reliable holding. The 12mm solid steel shaft is significantly heavier than standard hollow-shaft reef anchors, enabling fast sinking and increased anchor holding through sheer mass and prong engagement with the bottom. The hot-dip galvanised finish provides corrosion resistance, and the prong design is engineered to straighten under retrieval load if the anchor becomes firmly snagged, allowing recovery without cutting the anchor rode.
Supplied with the prongs bent to suit the intended reef anchoring application, the anchor is recommended for vessels up to approximately 7.5 metres and should not be left unattended when in use. The included chain and rope complement the anchor to provide a complete anchoring setup ready for deployment.
