Description
The Heavy Duty Reef Anchor is a 5-prong galvanised anchor engineered for temporary anchoring in reef, rocky, and irregular seabed conditions, featuring a 10mm solid steel shaft that is substantially heavier than conventional hollow-shaft reef anchors to ensure fast sinking and effective holding. The five prongs engage the irregular surfaces of reef and rocky bottoms to provide reliable temporary holding, whilst the hot-dip galvanised finish delivers the corrosion resistance required for regular use in the marine environment.
Recommended for vessels up to approximately 6 metres, the 10mm 5-prong anchor provides appropriate holding capacity for smaller vessels operating in reef or rocky anchoring conditions. The prong design straightens under excessive retrieval load allowing the anchor to be recovered if it becomes snagged, and the anchor should not be left unattended when deployed in reef conditions.
