Description
The Mooloolaba Pick Anchor is a galvanised steel reef anchor purpose-built for holding on rocky, coral, and rubble sea beds where conventional fluked anchors struggle to gain purchase. Featuring heavy-duty rigid prongs designed to grip between rocks and through reef structure, the Mooloolaba pick is renowned as a virtually indestructible anchor for challenging bottom conditions encountered in Australian coastal and reef fishing.
A key design feature is the dual attachment eyes at both the head and the working end of the anchor, enabling a trip line retrieval setup to be rigged. By attaching chain or line to the head and securing it along the shaft with cable ties, the anchor can be freed from rock by surging on the rode to break the ties, then hauled out headfirst rather than being lost. The hot-dipped galvanised finish provides lasting corrosion resistance throughout its working life.
