Reef Anchor 5/16in 8mm 4 Prong

The 8mm 4 Prong Reef Anchor is a galvanised anchor designed for temporary holding over reef and rocky seabed, suited to small to medium vessels up to approximately 4 metres. The solid shaft with four welded prongs provides the weight and fast-sinking characteristics needed for effective anchoring over hard, uneven bottoms, whilst the hot-dip galvanised finish provides reliable corrosion resistance for regular use in salt water environments. The anchor ships with straight prongs for safe transport and is bent to the required working angle by the user before first deployment.

A key characteristic of the 4 prong reef design is that the prongs will straighten under sustained retrieval load when snagged in reef or rocky structure, allowing the anchor to be freed and recovered rather than cut off and lost. Vessels anchored with reef anchors should not be left unattended, and final anchor size selection should be based on the skipper's experience, prevailing conditions, and the anchor rode in use.
