Description
The Daiwa 23 Saltiga represents the pinnacle of mid-size saltwater spinning reel engineering, bringing flagship-level technology to 4000, 5000, and 6000 sizes. Built around a full metal Monocoque (MQ) aluminium body, this one-piece construction eliminates traditional side plate screws in favour of an engine plate design that allows for a 12% larger drive gear whilst improving water resistance and internal support. The G1 Duralumin Tough Digigear features 130% increased strength with special surface treatment to reduce wear, twist, and deformation under the harshest conditions. AIRDRIVE Design throughout the front unit includes an aluminium AIRDRIVE Rotor for low inertia rotation with exceptional strength, AIRDRIVE Bail engineered specifically for each size, and AIRDRIVE Shaft with non-contact structure for efficient power transmission. MAGSEALED bearings on both sides of the drive gear plus a MAGSEALED line roller create exceptional protection against water and contaminants. The ATD drag system delivers 55-66 pounds of stopping power whilst remaining silky smooth and responsive. Made in Japan with meticulous attention to detail, the 23 Saltiga is the ultimate mid-size saltwater spinning reel.
