The Daiwa 26 Aird X Baitcaster Rod is the all-new 2026 release of Daiwa's benchmark entry-level light tackle baitcast rod series, delivering performance at an affordable price point that opens up quality Daiwa rod technology to anglers building their first baitcast setup or kitting out a stable of specialised rods. Featuring a high-strength HDS graphite carbon blank, the 26 Aird X is balanced in both strength and sensitivity to produce a lightweight and responsive rod that caters to a wide variety of baitcast angling techniques without committing to a single style.
Fuji guides provide the line management quality and confidence anglers expect from a serious fishing rod, whilst a uniquely designed Daiwa reel seat with a trigger profile improves ergonomics and grip comfort over long sessions on the water. Designed from the ground up to cater to Australian techniques and conditions, the 26 Aird X baitcast models include a hand-picked selection of tapers tuned for accurate casting of hard bodies, soft plastics, and spinnerbaits.
This baitcast rod is purpose-built for Australian techniques including casting hardbodies and spinnerbaits for Australian bass and yellowbelly in impoundments, working surface lures and crankbaits for Murray cod in rivers, throwing soft plastics and jerkbaits for barramundi and mangrove jack in tropical estuaries, and casting small to mid-sized lures for sooty grunter and saratoga.
