The Hot Bite Gang Banger G2 Metal Spoon Lure represents the evolution of this proven design, custom-designed by Jason Ehrlich for serious impoundment fishing. This 20g spoon has been downsized to 55mm and features tournament-quality assist hooks and trebles that deliver reliable penetration and holding power. The G2 is rear-weighted to increase casting distance whilst maintaining perfect balance during retrieves—critical for achieving the lure's distinctive swimming action. Unlike traditional spoons that spin during retrieves, the Gang Banger features a unique swimming action that maintains enticing movement at speeds up to 5-6km/h without spinning—it's this swaying action that triggers aggressive strikes. Perfect for slow retrieves when fish are less active, the Gang Banger excels in freshwater impoundments where it imitates baitfish profiles that attract species throughout Australian dams and lakes. The lure's design allows it to swim naturally rather than spin, creating a more realistic presentation that proves particularly effective on selective fish. Whilst originally designed for freshwater applications, the Gang Banger also performs exceptionally well in saltwater when cast into bait schools to trigger reaction strikes from larger predators.
