The redesigned Slammer drag system is not only better sealed but also offers a wider range of usable drag whilst being bearing-supported for extra smoothness. Built around a full metal body and sideplate that provides a rigid framework for precise gear alignment under heavy loads, this reel features Penn's CNC Gear Technology with an all-brass main gear for exceptional strength and durability. The eight-plus-one stainless steel bearing system delivers silky smooth operation, whilst the Hydrophobic Line Roller Bearing actively repels water for long-lasting performance in harsh saltwater conditions. Sealed Slammer drag system with Dura-Drag carbon fibre washers provides consistent, powerful stopping power with no hesitation even under extreme settings, whilst the HT-100 carbon fibre drag washers in smaller sizes offer smooth performance. The fully sealed, braid-ready spool eliminates the need for monofilament backing. With automatic bail trip on smaller models and manual bail trip on larger sizes for added durability, plus a spare EVA handle knob included, the Slammer IV is the ultimate saltwater workhorse reel designed to handle everything from inshore to heavy offshore applications.
