Burnett Heads to Mon Repos offers a range of fishing spots for the land based or kayak anglers, changing between small beaches and rocky sections of boulders and small points. Keen soft plastics anglers work along the low tide mark for bream and cod but are often surprised by catches of many other species.
In the cooler months the points are frequented by anglers at night chasing snapper on strip baits. The beaches provide some good spots for whiting and flathead and also dart seasonally. The waters just offshore hold schools of mack tuna, northen bluefin, and mackeral.
