Tim
"30 years in the game and it’s still a passion, working in a fishing store is like being a kid in a candy shop for me”
Tim’s been fishing since he could walk and hasn’t put the rod down since! With over 30 years in the tackle and boating industry, he’s a walking encyclopedia of all things relating to fishing, boating and marine electronics. Tim knows Bundaberg and its waterways better than most people know their own backyard. Born and bred here in Bundaberg, Tim has spent a lifetime fishing locally and around our country chasing everything from big marlin, GTs and all your reef species offshore, to chasing the mighty barramundi in the dams and Fitzroy River. Tim even enjoys chasing the humble flathead, bream and whiting in the Burnett River, and doesn’t mind chasing bass and saratoga in the freshwater dams, if it swims, he has either caught it or had a crack at catching it.
In store, Tim is our Store Manager, he keeps the whole operation running smoothly. He oversees inventory, manages our promotional campaigns, and makes sure our shelves are always looking sharp with the latest gear to suit our fishery. He’s helped generations of anglers pick the perfect setup, find the right local spots, and fall in love with fishing the way he did. If you want honest advice, a few tips, or a good yarn about what’s biting, Tim’s your bloke.

Gary
“I might be too old to run, but I’ll never be too old to reel.”
The man. The myth. The legend. Gary has been part of the team at Tackle World Bundaberg for over 25 years, and in that time his passion has helped countless anglers fit out their boats and land their dream fish. He really does know it all.
Gary controls the boating and marine electronics side of the business. So if you've ever picked up a sweet deal, whether it's marine electronics, live scope kits, bilge pumps or anything boating, Gary was the man behind it. He's grown this side of the business into Bundy's biggest and best electronics and boating range. Gary also knows our local area like the back of his hand and has a special understanding of our fishery, fine-tuned over decades of on water experience. Some have even gone as far as to say, "what Gary doesn't know about fishing isn't worth knowing", and we couldn't agree more!
When Gary isn't at work, he loves getting outdoors and camping at either Miara or Lake Monduran. Whether it's scoping barra, chasing mangrove jack, flicking for flathead or just chasing a fresh feed of mud crab, Gary does it all. He doesn't mind the freshwater either, with a soft spot for targeting the mighty bass. Whatever you're chasing, Gary's decades of knowledge has you covered.

Corey
“Give me a quiet morning, a baitcaster and a few topwater frogs and I'm a happy man”
Corey learned to fish with lures from a young age and has been chasing that next big bite ever since. His favourite fish to target is a mangrove jack smashing a topwater frog, that explosive surface hit never gets old! He also has a soft spot for the humble flathead and managed to take out the Gold Coast Flathead Classic in 2024, cementing his reputation as someone who truly walks the walk!
In store, Corey plays a big role behind the scenes. Promotional campaigns, stock merchandising, website development and maintenance, social media marketing, Corey has a crack at it all.
And when he’s not at work? He’s either lifting at the gym or sneaking off to skip frogs for another mangrove jack mission. Whether it’s lure advice, tech help, or finding the perfect setup, Corey’s always keen for a chat and happy to help.

Josh
"I started fishing not long after I could walk and never looked back!"
Josh is your go-to guide for just about anything, if it swims, he knows how to catch it! Of course, every angler has their favourites, and for Josh it’s the Lake Monduran barra! The chase, the bite, the fight, Josh lives for those moments of anticipation, adrenaline and pure joy, made even more special through countless heartbreak moments which these barra are renowned for.
Why does Josh love Bundy? For him, it’s the variety on offer, “We truly have one of the most diverse fisheries in the world right on our doorstep”. From billfish, red emperor and snapper, to whiting, bream and flathead, to barra, mangrove jack and jewfish and even bass and saratoga Bundy has it all. When he’s not at work he’ll either be fishing, thinking about fishing, or playing with his trusty companion Lilly🐶.

JC
“Studying fish patterns for me is so addictive, figuring out why they do what they do, sometimes I’ll just watch from above through my drone and not even cast a line”
JC spends more time on the water than off it, with a huge amount of that time dedicated to our local estuary systems, so it’s fair to say he’s got them pretty dialled in! If you aren’t familiar with JC, he’s well known for capturing epic, and sometimes never-before-seen, footage of fish behaviour right here in our local area.
His favourite fish to target? The humble flathead! These fish never stop amazing him, from finding them hunting bait on the surface, kicking stingrays out of their favourite spots or even hanging out with barra and mangrove jacks, the flathead is not as simple as we once thought. But he’s certainly no one trick pony, Papua New Guinea black bass, mangrove jacks, saltwater barra, whiting, queenfish, grunter…you name it, he’s caught it. A true estuary specialist, if you’re after advice on fish behaviour, how weather impacts fish feeding habits or just want to hear a few tales from his time on the water, JC is your man.

Seth
“Most days all I think about is fishing, my next trip, new lures, and of course, the one that got away. That’s what makes working at Tackle World Bundaberg so good, I get paid to talk fishing!”
After growing up in Far North Queensland in the small town of Innisfail, Seth was fishing almost every day. With countless hours spent on the water, he has built a strong reputation as a saltwater specialist, particularly when it comes to estuary and coastal fishing. Seth also brings a solid depth of knowledge in freshwater fishing, with plenty of experience targeting impoundment barramundi, sooty grunter and jungle perch. His time up north gave him the chance to fish a wide range of systems and conditions, helping him develop a well-rounded, practical approach to fishing.
Now living in Bundaberg, Seth has wasted no time getting amongst the local action. He’s already been catching plenty of fish, spending a lot of his time kayak fishing and sneaking up into the skinny creeks, where his northern experience really shines. Whether you’re chasing fish in the estuaries, freshwater impoundments or looking to fine-tune your kayak setup, Seth is one of our in-store experts and is always happy to help point you in the right direction.

Karl
“Land based game fishing is my passion, everything about it is raw, gnarly and exhilarating!”
Karl is our land based game fishing and kayak fishing expert, if you aren’t aware, he’s also a long way from home! Karl grew up in Minnesota USA and moved to Australia back in 2010. What made Bundy so appealing? The fishing of course! Karl loves the thrill of catching monster fish from the rocks or from his kayak, he explains this type of fishing as, “it’s just like bringing a knife to a gun fight, except you forgot your knife”. Our winter season is Karl’s favourite, this is the prime time to catch massive long tail tuna and spanish mackerel off the rocks.
As for his kayak fishing, he loves the ability to go where most others can’t. Targeting skinny water bass, mangrove jack, barra and tarpon in freshwater and brackish river sections out of his kayak is also one of Karl’s favourite types of fishing. Karl is living proof that you don’t need a boat to experience our great fishery, he attributes a lot of his success to the fact that it forces him to think outside the box, and it sure pays off for him. If you’re in Bundy and want some land based game fishing or kayak fishing local intel, Karl is the man for you!

Jordan
"My wife reckons I've got a problem, I reckon I've just got a hobby…a very expensive one."
Jordan is a proven tournament angler with serious runs on the board in both the barra and bass scenes, where consistent results have earned him a solid reputation amongst the country's best competitive anglers. A self-confessed tech head, Jordan lives and breathes the modern era of fishing. Live Scope, Mega 360, side scan, if it puts more fish in the boat, Jordan has it dialled in. He's the bloke to talk to if you want to understand what all the fuss is about, or if you're ready to take your sounder game to the next level.
When he's not chasing barra or bass in the fresh, Jordan splits his time between the estuaries and the offshore grounds. Through the warmer months he's locked in on threadfin salmon, barra and mangrove jack in our rivers, and come winter, he switches gears to chase donkey bream around the rocks and flats. Jordan also knows his way around the offshore grounds, with big fingermark, red emperor, jewfish and coral trout all on his resume.
Whether you're getting into tournament fishing, trying to wrap your head around the latest sounder tech, or chasing good old fashioned local advice, Jordan is always keen to share what he knows.
