Description
The Icom IC-M25 Euro Handheld VHF Marine Radio is the lightest floating marine VHF handheld on the market at just 218 grams (7.7 ounces) with a slim 30.5mm (1.2-inch) depth for comfortable one-handed operation. Waterproof to IPX7 standard withstanding submersion to 1 metre for 30 minutes, this compact transceiver features Icom's Float'n Flash technology that activates a flashing red LED light and LCD/key backlight when dropped into water for easy retrieval even at night. The built-in 1570mAh lithium-ion battery delivers 5-watt output power with 11 hours of operation (typical with 5:5:90 duty cycle), whilst a powerful 700mW audio output ensures received voice is heard loud and clear even in noisy conditions.
The large LCD is 30% larger than its predecessor displaying big channel numbers supporting 4-digit channels with automatic backlighting, whilst the well-laid-out front panel features good-sized function keys for simple operation. Micro-B USB charging connector accepts standard 5V/1A input allowing convenient charging from smartphone chargers, cigarette lighter cables or mobile battery packs, whilst AquaQuake draining function uses low-frequency sound to clear the speaker of water after submersion.
Dual and triple watch functions monitor channel 16 and call channels, whilst quick-access favourite channel function and programmable scanning provide comprehensive monitoring capabilities. Supplied complete with AC adapter, USB cable, belt clip, antenna and hand strap, making this ultra-lightweight handheld ideal for tenders, paddleboarding or as a backup to fixed installations across all Australian coastal and offshore environments.
