Description
Description
The Malosi Minion 80F represents an upscaled version of the successful Minion series, delivering enhanced casting distance and increased visual appeal whilst maintaining the precise balance and ultra-responsive action that defines this Australian-designed lure family. Measuring 80mm in length and weighing 7.6 grams, this floating lure dives to depths of less than 1 metre, making it perfectly suited for working shallow structure, sand flats, rocky coastlines, estuary systems and mangrove-lined waterways where predatory fish stage ambushes on unsuspecting prey. The larger 80mm profile provides increased attraction for bigger specimens whilst remaining perfectly balanced to deliver highly responsive presentations across multiple retrieval techniques. Slow-rolling the Minion 80F produces a seductive wiggle that accurately replicates the swimming pattern of small baitfish moving through shallow zones, whilst erratic twitching interspersed with pauses creates the telegraphing behaviour of prawns or injured baitfish that triggers aggressive strikes from opportunistic predators. The lure features internal rattling weights that generate acoustic attraction, drawing fish from greater distances particularly in stained water or low-light conditions when visual cues are reduced. Constructed using cutting-edge Japanese design principles, the Minion 80F utilises high-grade ABS materials and premium stainless steel hardware ensuring exceptional durability in demanding saltwater and freshwater applications. The lure comes factory-equipped with BKK 6066-3X #10 treble hooks that deliver razor-sharp penetration and superior corrosion resistance, with the capability to be upgraded to larger hook sizes without compromising the lure's swimming action when targeting more powerful species. For optimal performance, anglers should employ a loop knot or uni knot connection directly to the front split ring, allowing completely unrestricted movement and natural swimming action. The Malosi Minion 80F excels across Australian waters targeting flathead, mangrove jack, trevally, bream, tailor, barramundi, queenfish, salmon and numerous other shallow water predators in estuaries, coastal shallows and freshwater systems nationwide.
