Description
Description
The Pains Wessex Inshore Flare Kit is a comprehensive distress signalling kit designed to meet Australian boating regulations for inshore and coastal waters. Manufactured in Germany to the highest marine safety standards, the kit contains two red hand flares burning at 15,000 candela for 60 seconds each, providing a powerful day and night distress signal visible at significant range. Two orange hand smoke flares are also included for daytime signalling, emitting a dense cloud of orange smoke with a four kilometre sighting range, making them especially visible from search aircraft.
The Pains Wessex Inshore Flare Kit is supplied in a tough, water-resistant polybottle container measuring approximately 360mm high by 110mm wide, keeping the flares protected from moisture and easy to locate in an emergency. All signals carry a three-year shelf life and are simple to deploy by pulling the firing cord. The kit is suitable for use up to three nautical miles from land and complies with the requirements applicable to inshore boating in Australian waters. As dangerous goods, these flares must be collected in store and cannot be shipped.
