The Waterline Universal Large Rectangle Outboard Motor Flusher is designed to flush salt, sand, and silt from the cooling system of modern outboard motors and stern drives after use in salt or brackish water. The large rectangular muff cup provides superior coverage and a tighter seal over the water intake ports of many contemporary outboard motor designs compared to round or oval alternatives, reducing water bypass and improving flushing effectiveness. The spring-steel frame holds the muffs firmly in position against the motor housing whilst the garden hose delivers a steady flow of fresh water through the cooling passages.
Operating the motor at idle during flushing allows the impeller to circulate fresh water through all cooling channels, dislodging salt and debris before it can cause corrosion or blockage. Five to ten minutes of running is typically sufficient to complete a thorough flush. This simple maintenance step is highly recommended after every outing in salt or estuarine water.
