Fishing maps in the Bundaberg Region

Kolan River

Map Location Groups:

The Kolan River and Moore Park Creek.

The Kolan River is big enough to accommodate all our local species, it also his a wide range of habitats for marine life making it a popular river for locals. Known for its' good runs of prawn and mud crabs and seasonal appearances of grunter, tailor and queenfish, the Kolan really has something for everyone.
The main access points are the Booyan Ramp on the southern side, a good single lane ramp that can be used all but low tide, and the Miara boat ramp on the northern side that is good on all tides.

Burnett River - Gayndah

Map Location Groups:

One of the oldest towns in Queensland, Gayndah is situated on the banks of the Burnett River about 160km from Bundaberg. The Claude Wharton Weir is about 2km upstream from the Gayndah Bridge and creates a nice impoundment that is navigable for about 10km up from the wall.
Best access is from the southern side about 11km west of Gayndah. If you head straight through town on the Gayndah/Mundubbera Road, travel about 9.6km then turn right onto Mt Debatable Road, then travel 1.4km down to the river. Just before entering onto the bridge, you will see the dirt ramp on your right hand side.

Burnett River - Mundubbera

Map Location Groups:

Mundubbera, (an aboriginal name for "meeting of the waters"), is 180km from Bundy via Mt Perry. Just to the west of town the three rivers of Burnett, Auburn and Boyne Rivers meet.
The Mundubbera area has a mixture of of natural water courses and the Jones weir. The Jones Weir wall is on the river right in town, but the boat ramp is 5km out off Coonambula Road. The road in is dirt so care is to be taken if it has been raining. The boat ramp is single-lane concrete and has a fair angle into the water.
The waterways have been stocked with mainly barra, yellowbelly and bass.

Eurimbula Creek

Map Location Groups:

Eurimbula Creek is a relatively small creek but makes up for it with some quality fish and pretty scenery, especially in it's upper reaches. It does not get as much fishing pressure compared to some other creeks in the area due to it being a mud crab sanctuary and it's proximity to Middle Creek.

Wuruma Dam

Map Location Groups:

Wuruma dam is a peaceful spot that has produced some excellent fishing over the years. Situated on the Nogo River about 40 kilometres north-west of Eidsvold, the dam is a mixture of rolling hills, small bays, rock ledges, standing timber and granite boulders.
Wuruma has a good range of species including bass, barramundi, yellowbelly, silver perch, spangled perch and catfish.

Cania Dam

Map Location Groups:

Cania Dam is about 36km northwest of Monto and the road to the dam is sealed all the way. Cania has a good 2-lane concrete boat ramp that is useable until dam level gets low. Cania Dam is built on Three Moon Creek, a tributary of the Burnett River and at the head of very picturesque Cania Gorge.
The dam itself has a good mixture of shallow flats, deep banks, rocky outcrops, standing timber and protected little bays.

Pancake Creek and Middle Creek

Map Location Groups:

Pancake Creek and Middle Creek have been popular destinations for avid anglers for many years. Ten years ago it was a 3-4 hour drive from Bundaberg on rough bush tracks with soft sand, deep ruts and swamp sections. Nowadays, the track into Middle from the Agnes Road would only be about an hour at worst, with a road base of crushed rock nearly all the way. With Agnes being about an hour from Bundaberg, the trip is now just over half what it was.
