By now, everyone should have recovered from the Australia Day celebrations and are either back at school or work for another big year.

Looking forward into the Australia Day long weekend, the offshore forecast for the Bundaberg area isn’t looking too good, but the general forecast for a bit of camping and fishing in the local creeks and rivers is still looking fair.
With this being the last weekend of the school holidays, I can’t think of a better way to finish the break than by hooking into a few fish around the Bundaberg region.
Well, we are now a few weeks into the New Year and boy, has it gone quickly! But, as each week passes, the local rivers and creeks around the Bundaberg area are cleaning up day by day.
Firstly, I trust that everyone had a happy and safe New Years and that you all saw in 2018 in style.
With a bit of luck, the weather in 2018 will be kinder than last year, giving us all more chance to get out and wet a line in the Bundaberg region.

The fishing around the Bundaberg area has remained surprisingly good, considering the amount of fresh water pushing down most of the local systems.
Well, around the Bundaberg area, we sure have copped our fair share of rain over the past week, sending more fresh down most of our river systems. This will make the fishing very interesting, as this will push most of the species back down towards the river mouths.
With Christmas only a few weeks away, I’m sure all the school children and parents can’t wait to get out and wet a line over the break.
