The past week has seen some quality fish caught around the Bundaberg area, from both estuary and offshore.
Last weekend saw a few boats head offshore and a lot of the boats that got out came home with some quality coral trout, grass sweetlip, parrot and a few big spanish mackerel.
Looking at the latest forecast, things around the Bundaberg area may come good for some offshore fishing, so fingers crossed. Also, keep an eye on the latest forecast before heading out, as the predicted northerlies can be unpredictable.
The first week of spring is always a magical time of the year around Bundaberg. As the water temperature starts to rise, so should the fishing with some quality mangrove jack already starting to smash lures and baits.
Now we are in the last week of winter, the days should start to warm up and more of the summer species like mangrove jack and barramundi should start to fire up over the coming months.
Looking at the forecast, it’s going to be a “wait and see” kind of moment to see if the weather around the Bundaberg area holds out for some offshore fishing.
The offshore fishing forecast for the Bundaberg area is not looking so flash for the weekend, so up the rivers and creeks it is. Luckily enough most of the rivers and creeks are fishing well.
