Well, with the full moon coming up on Friday night and the weather forecast for the Bundaberg area looking like the winds will be up around 15 to 20 knots from the south-east, at this stage it might be a bit lumpy offshore this weekend.
Luckily enough the Bundaberg area had only minimal damage and was not badly affected by Cyclone Marcia as she passed about 200 klms inland around Monto last Friday.
G’day guys. Unfortunately with Cyclone Maria expected to hit the Queensland coast between Rockhampton and Bundaberg early on Friday morning, the forecast is for strong winds and heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.
It’s been another great start to February this year around the Bundaberg region. Unfortunately for this weekend, it looks like the south-easterlies will be blowing, so I would recommend fishing the local rivers and impoundments to land a fish or two.
With moderate south-easterlies and a large swell forecast from ex-tropical cyclone Ola, we would suggest fishing the local estuaries and impoundments around the Bundaberg area this weekend. Both options have been fishing well during the past week or so.

The fishing in the Bundaberg area continues to produce the goods over the past week. The rain that we’ve experienced recently has stirred up the prawns and crabs in the Burnett, so it is well worth putting in the effort to secure a top feed.
January is usually a great time to explore the waterways around the Bundaberg region. With light winds expected this weekend, it looks like it will be a great chance to get out and wet a line.
