Well it’s nearly that time of the year where the Easter Bunny will be out and about. This is also the start of two weeks of school holidays. This is always a magic time to get away either camping or just spending some quality time on the water with your family.
Fingers crossed this weekend looks like a cracker at this stage. Light winds are forecast Friday and Saturday, so there might be a small window for the reef fisherman to get out and re-stock their freezers.
Once again the fishing around Bundaberg will have to be restricted to the rivers and impoundments, with 20-30 knots south-easterlies predicted for this weekend. Now summer is finished, let’s hope some good weather is just around the corner.
Well good news is that all our local rivers have cleaned up nicely with the big tides we had through last week. This weekend’s forecast does no look too bad with Saturday being the pick of the two at this stage.
Good news is that the fishing around Bundaberg is starting to pick up. All the local rivers and creeks should start to receive more salt water which will push further up most systems with the full moon next Tuesday night and bigger tides.
Once again, the fishing around Bundaberg will be a little difficult due to the amount of fresh water coming down from further upstream, as well as the constant south-easterlies that keep pushing the showers in along our coastline.
Let’s hope everyone’s recovered from the Australia Day celebrations this week. Despite a little bit of rain early, the day turned out to be fantastic and it was great to see that heaps of anglers around the Bundaberg area made the most of the good conditions.
