First things first – all the team here at Tackle World Bundaberg would like to wish you and your families a very safe and Merry Christmas. Hopefully you have all been very good and Santa brings you everything you wish for.
It’s great to see that over the past fortnight the Bundaberg region has received some welcome rainfall, topping up the rainwater tanks and dams, helping our local farmers and giving them a great start for this year’s cane season.
At this time of the year in the magical part of the world around Bundaberg, the days are really hot and humid with the threat of thunderstorms most afternoons – perfect conditions for jack fishing! They just love this type of weather, it really fires them up.
Mangrove jack seem to be the words on everyone’s lips lately around the Bundaberg area, and with the wind expected to ease a little, it looks like a top weekend to get out and chase a few red devils.
The Burnett River at Bundaberg has been a fantastic fishery for many years and has changed quite a bit in that time. I can remember bait fishing as a child with the family, and very seldom did we come home without a feed of fish.
At this stage it looks like the south-easterly winds around the Bundaberg area will be blowing up around 15-20 knots all weekend. Luckily enough our local rivers and dams continue to produce some nice fish.
