The fishing in the Bundaberg region during the past week has been fantastic. The days have definitely got a lot cooler and it has not been uncommon to see frost covering everything outside.
With some cold mornings now upon us in the Bundaberg area, it certainly makes it harder to get out of bed and go for a fish. There are still many opportunities to go and target your species of choice.

In the Bundaberg area the Burnett River is still alive with bait fish. At this time of the year, the rock walls around the river hold a good population of bream and flathead.
If you are planning an early morning fishing session, you might need to make sure you are rugged up for those cold starts the Bundaberg area has been experiencing in the past week or so.
The weather around the Bundaberg area has been very ordinary but is expected to improve for the weekend. The full moon is Friday, so it might be a chance to have a go on the north wall as some quality bream are just starting to run along most rock bars.
With prevailing southeasterly winds at 15 knots this weekend, once again fishing will be tough going. However, the Burnett River is still going strong, especially down in the Port area and the rock wall out at the entrance. The amount of sizeable bream that are being caught is astounding.
Fish Report – 22nd May 2014
