Still the wind is with us for yet another week, with no end in sight. Once again the anglers around the Bundaberg area will be restricted to fishing the protected estuaries and the local freshwater impoundments.

With the tropical low/cyclone in far north Queensland, we now have some very ordinary weather upon us, so the fishing around the Bundaberg area will be rather restricted. It’s a good time to explore your estuary systems and try areas away from your normal spots.
Well, with the ordinary weather we’ve had around the Bundaberg area as of late, fishing has been mainly restricted to creeks and estuaries, especially with good runs of prawns in most systems.
Once again the offshore fishing around Bundaberg has been limited due to bad weather.
A small break in the weather earlier this week saw a few of the bigger boats heading offshore from Bundaberg. Most were well rewarded with quality fish including some beaut red emperor, coral trout, tuskies and plenty of Spanish mackerel.
Hopefully everyone has had a very Merry Christmas and with a bit of luck, Santa has brought you all a new fishing rod because the fishing has been great.
The offshore fishing around Bundaberg has been blown out by strong winds, but there is still a run of school mackerel around the river mouths. Trolling spoons and small diving Minnows is the way to go.
Well, the weeks just keep on zipping by and the fishing around the Bundaberg area has been great.
The forecast for the Bundaberg area for this weekend is predicted to be 15-20 knot winds, so offshore fishing will be out.
Offshore fishing has been limited due to weather. Some of the inshore areas have produced some quality fish when weather permits. Snapper and large grunter have been the main catches. The rivers are still producing some fantastic fishing with plenty of jew around the mouths.
