Last weekend saw some fantastic fish caught in the annual VMR Family Fishing Classic at Burnett Heads.
Although the weather/wind wasn’t exactly overly kind for the offshore fishermen, a lot of boats headed out wide.
Well, the past week saw some ordinary weather around Bundaberg, and the strong winds offshore meant that the big boats would stay home, so any fishing done during the week has been in the rivers and creeks. However, some great reports were given from most systems.
We saw a week of reasonable weather this week around the Bundaberg area, with better than average light winds and this finally gave an opportunity to allow plenty of boats offshore. Although the tides were big there was still some quality fish caught.
Wow, what a week of great weather we have had in the Bundaberg area! It has been some of the best/calmest we have seen, and a lot of big boats took advantage of the opportunity.
Since the recent flood here in Bundaberg, the fishing has been a bit slow in some of our estuary systems. In our region, the Burnett, Kolan and Elliott Rivers as well as Baffle Creek were all affected in some way.
